Getting Started

What is Voxel Outpost?

Voxel Outpost is a fun and safe place for gamers like you! You can find gaming servers, make friends, join groups, and play games together. Think of it like a clubhouse for gamers!

How old do I need to be?

Anyone can use Voxel Outpost! If you're under 13, your parent needs to approve your account and help you stay safe. If you're 13 or older, you can use it with your parent knowing about it.

Do I need to pay money?

Nope! Voxel Outpost is free to use. All the safety features and fun stuff work without paying anything. There might be some extra cool features you can pay for later, but you don't need them to have fun!

What games can I play?

You can find servers for Minecraft, Roblox, and other popular games! You can see what servers other kids are playing on and join them (with your parent's permission if you're under 13).

🛡️

Staying Safe

How do you keep me safe?

We have a friendly robot (AI) that reads messages to make sure no one is being mean or saying bad things. If something worrying happens, we tell your parents. Bad words get blocked automatically so you never see them!

Can anyone message me?

Nope! Only your friends can message you. If you're under 13, your parents have to approve your friends first. Strangers can't send you messages at all.

What if someone is mean to me?

Tell your parents right away! You can also click the 'Report' button next to their name. We take being mean very seriously and will help stop it. You can also block them so they can't talk to you anymore.

Can people see where I live?

No way! We don't track where you are or collect your location. No one can see where you live or go to school. Keep that information private and never share it with online friends!

What information is safe to share?

✅ Safe: Your gamer tag, favourite games, what you like to play ❌ Never share: Your real name, address, school name, phone number, passwords, or photos of yourself

👥

Friends & Groups

How do I add friends?

Click on someone's profile and click 'Add Friend.' If you're under 13, your parent will get a notification and decide if it's okay. If they say yes, you become friends and can message each other!

Can I play with my school friends?

Yes! Ask your parent to help add your friends. Your parents can contact each other and approve the friendship. It's like a parent-approved playdate but for gaming!

What are groups?

Groups are like clubs for people who like the same games! You can join Minecraft groups, Roblox groups, or groups for your favourite game modes. If you're under 13, your parent approves which groups you join.

Can I talk to people I don't know?

Only if your parents say it's okay AND they're your approved friends. We don't let strangers message you. If someone tries to be your friend, your parents decide if it's safe.

💬

Chatting & Calling

Can I voice chat with friends?

Yes, but only with friends your parents approved! Your parents can set time limits (like only 1 hour at a time) and times when you can call (like only after homework, before bedtime).

What if someone asks me to do something I don't want to?

Say NO and tell your parents immediately! You should never feel pressured to do anything. It's okay to leave the call, block them, and report them. You're never in trouble for telling your parents.

Can I send pictures or videos?

We don't allow sending photos or videos for safety reasons. This keeps everyone safer online! You can use fun emoji and text instead.

What words are blocked?

Mean words, bad words, and anything that could hurt someone's feelings get blocked. Our safety robot also blocks words that bullies use. If you try to say something mean, it won't go through!

🎯

Gaming Servers

How do I find cool servers?

Click 'Browse Servers' and you'll see lots of Minecraft and Roblox servers! You can search for your favourite game types like 'creative,' 'survival,' or 'roleplay.' Check the age rating to find servers right for you!

Do I need my parent's permission to join?

If you're under 13, yes! When you click 'Join Server,' your parent gets a notification with all the info about the server. They can see the rules, who runs it, and decide if it's safe for you.

What if a server is not fun or safe?

You can leave anytime! Click 'Leave Server' and you're out. If something bad happened there, tell your parents and use the 'Report Server' button so we can check it out.

Can I make my own server?

That's awesome! If you're under 18, your parent needs to help you set it up. They'll make sure all the rules are good and that the server is safe for other kids too!

Other Questions

What is the Parent Zone?

That's a special place for your parents! They can see your friends list, approve friend requests, check which servers you're in, and make sure you're staying safe. It's like their mission control for keeping you safe!

Why does my parent get so many notifications?

Because they love you and want to keep you safe! Every time something important happens (like a friend request or joining a server), they get notified so they can help you make good choices.

Can I use Voxel Outpost on my phone?

Yes! Voxel Outpost works on phones, tablets, and computers. Just open your web browser and go to the website. Apps for phones are coming soon!

What if I forget my password?

Ask your parent to help! They can reset your password using the 'Forgot Password' button on the login page. Never share your password with anyone, not even friends!

Do you show me ads?

Nope! We don't show any advertisements to kids. We also don't track what websites you visit or try to get you to spend more time than is healthy. No annoying ads here!

What happens when I turn 13?

Happy birthday! 🎂 When you turn 13, you get a bit more freedom! You can accept friend requests yourself (your parents still see them), and some privacy settings change. But your parents still have the Parent Zone to keep you safe.
